LFF 2014 Previews Part vii:

No Man's Land (Ning Hao)

Starting to sound like a broken record here, but no subtitled trailer for this one (we will update these when we get them). More Northern China shenanigans, this time more in western stylie. A city lawyer ends up in bother when he runs over the wrong man.

Shrew's Nest (Juanfer Andrés, Esteban Roel)

One definitely for the non-squeamish member of the BS team (ie. the female one), this bloody Spanish horror follows a seamstress and her sister as they look after a neighbour and evidently spill quite a lot of claret in the process....

Tokyo Tribe (Sion Sono)

We have no idea what to make of this one. West Side Story? With Japanese gansta rap? Pretty much.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (Tobe Hooper)

We just couldn't leave this one out. After decades of poor attempts at recreating the tooth grinding horror of the original, we get that very film, remastered and presented in super grimy 4K splendour. Especially pertinent given Marilyn Burns' recent death. Experience THE horror film on a proper screen. We saw this at the cinema on its post-ban re-issue a few years back and frankly, we've never recovered.
